In 2001 Hootenanny 3 was formed as a backing band for
American guitar virtuoso, David Grier whilst he was touring
in the UK. This was such a success the band continued
to do occasional shows as a trio and also occasionally
re-grouped for other touring Americans such as Mandolin
monster and Compass records recording artist, Matt Flinner
and more recently Grammy winning Dobro player Sally Van
Meter.
2006 threatens to be a busy year for ‘The Hoots’ with
proposed tours; May/June with David Grier, (listen to
excerpts from their last tour together) a trip to Canada
in July and with ‘The Growling Old Men’ in
September.
