Hootenanny 3 is a trio formed from some of the UK’s finest acoustic musicians, playing what is best described as ‘mid-Atlantic music’. Far from being another contrived ‘new’ kind of music, this is naturally what happens when an Irish fiddler with an insightful understanding of bluegrass, a bluegrass banjo player with a flair for re-working Irish tunes and a guitarist who is equally at home backing Irish or American music, get together to express their healthy disregard for history and geography.
